Mangwon Hangang Park

Mangwon Hangang Park in central Seoul offers a serene and natural environment amid the bustling capital city. Its historical sites are worth your time and effort.

Situated in between Seongsandaegyo Bridge and also Yanghwadaegyo Bridge, Mangwon Hangang Park is a beautiful location with lots of archaeological and historic sites.

Offering vast, open views and picturesque walking paths, the park comes furnished with numerous public leisure centers like a pool, football field, volleyball field, basketball court, tennis court, roller skating rink, ballpark, among other activities.

It also includes a 3.1-kilometer bike path, where cyclists can ride a bike with colleagues, good friends, families, as well as enthusiasts.

Need To Know

Jeoldusan Martyrs' Grave famous for its background of Catholicism in Korea and also a location renowned for its panoramas of the Hangang River.

In 1866, several Catholics passed away (mostly executed) and were martyred because they kept their faith. You will find graveyards of the martyrs, including the recently buried religious individuals and foreign missionaries who served the Korean Catholics.

In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Oppression back in 1966, the church developed what is understood today as Jeoldusan Martyrs' Temple to display the many divine artifacts as well as antiques of Catholicism in Korea.

Getting to Mangwon Hangang Park

To come here, it would be more convenient if you take the subway. However, you can also take a taxi to get here quickly. In fact, it could be cheaper if you come with another person or more in a cab.

Right, let me describe how to come here via the Seoul subway line...

Take or transfer to Seoul Subway Line 6 and get off at Mangwon Station. Proceed to Exit 1, then take Bus No.9 and get off at Mangwon Suyuji Bust Stop.

Alternately, take the Subway Line 2 and get off at Hapjeong Station. Then come out from Exit 1 and take Bus No.16.
