Deogyusan Mountain National Park (Hangeul: 덕유산국립공원, Hanja: 德裕山國立公園) is situated Gyeongsangnam-do (Province) in South Korea.

This beautiful mountain area was designated as the 10th national park in 1975. From the peak of Bukdeogyusan Mountain to Namdeogyusan Mountain runs 17.5 kilometers with an altitude of over 1,200 meters.

Deogyusan has five high peaks with over 1,300 meters above sea levels. Covering four counties, the national park is consists of eight large valleys.

Deogyusan Mountain National Park is home to various flora and fauna.

According to Wikipedia, it is a total of 1,067 plant species, over one thousand insect species, over one hundred bird species, amphibians, reptiles, and mammal species.

Getting to Deogyusan Mountain National Park

Bus
Take a City Bus at Geochang-eup for Hwangjeom. This bus travels six times during the day which takes around an hour to your destination.

Take City Bus at Geochang-eup for  Songgyesa Temple. This bus travels for ten times during the day and takes around an hour to your destination.

Taxi
From Geochang-eup to Hwangjeom will take from 30 to 40 minutes.
From Geochang-eup to Songgyesa Temple will also take from 30 to 40 minutes.

Seolcheonbong Peak is where skiers and snowboarders start their exciting downward glides. It is also where the lifts and gondolas bring up and down the guests.

Resorts and Sites at Deogyusan National Park

Deogyusan Resort Sledding Hills
This resort specializes in tobogganing activity. This sledding resort, which was formerly called Muju Resort, offers over 5 thousand sleds for their slope with 125 meters in length.

Deogyusan Ski Resort
Located in Muju-gun, this ski resort offers exciting skiing and snowboarding activities. It is South Korea’s top mountain area for skiing and snowboarding.

Deogyusan Resort
It is a condominium that offers everything you need for a holiday, especially during the winter season. Its location offers one of the strategic places to witness the scenery of Mount Deogyu National Park.

Baekryeonsa Temple (Muju)
It is a famous Buddhist temple located in the Gucheongdong Valley of the park. Stories told that this temple is filled with white lotus during the Silla Kingdom period.
